M/T 'Black Egret'

The Black Egret can supply AGO at rates of 15,000 Litres per hour up to 65,000 Litres per hour. Barge capacity is 1.35 million Litres. Currently the Black Egret is the only bunker barge in Durban to offer AGO. AGO is a cleaner product than the Marine Gas Oil. In today's environmentally conscious society, cleaner is greener.

MT Black Egret operates in Durban, South Africa

M/T 'Black Egret' (Port of Durban)

The latest and newest vessel in the KZN Bunkers' fleet, the M/T 'Black Egret', currently services the port of Durban. This new barge was designed and built in Durban to oil industry, SAMSA and DNV classification society. Of double-hull construction on her sides 'Black Egret' is capable of delivering AGO in a safe, reliable fashion. Four manifold stations have been ergonomically positioned on board the barge to ensure optimal bunker connections to all types of vessels e.g. bulk carriers, reefer ships, tankers and high freeboard ships such as pure car carriers, containerships and cruise ships. Three diesel power plants each coupled to an azimuth propeller-shaft make for a very manoeuvrable vessel, well suited to harbour confines. The barge is 58 metres long, 10 metres wide and 3,9 metres deep.

MT Dolphin Coast

Operates out of Lagos, Nigeria.

The coastal tanker M/T 'Dolphin Coast' was acquired in 1996 to perform the bridging of bunker fuels between the ports of Durban and Richards bay. To the year 2005, 'Dolphin Coast' had carried over 2.5 million tonnes of bunker fuel and continued to fulfill the role of feeder tanker on behalf of the petroleum industry. This barge has now relocated.

RETIRED BARGES

M/T 'Pelican' (Port of Cape Town)

The M/T 'Pelican' (ex 'Durban Servicer') was acquired by KZN Bunkers in May 2001 and extensively refitted prior to being positioned in the port of Cape Town. The 'Pelican' was capable of delivering marine fuel oil (mfo) and bunker gas oil (bgo) to all types of vessels and was a flexible alternative to the ageing wharf pipelines then in service. Blended fuels were also available via the barge.

M/T 'Stanley' (Port of Cape Town)

The 'Stanley' delivered gas oil within the harbour limits. She was available for the storage of fuels as the need arose.
